Why Use Organic Essential Oils?
Mothers Touch essential oils for babies can be a very safe and easy way to bring relief to many common ailments if used properly. Essential oils are a very concentrated distillation of many pounds of plant material. If the plants are not organic there is a risk that the concentrated chemical pesticides will enter the bloodstream along with the medicinal plant compounds.
This is why I have chosen to use only organic essential oils and why this product may cost a little more than others. Mothers Touch also gives you the benefit of years of research and experience in both the formulation and dilution of these blends.
A brief history of essential oils
The medicinally use of essential oils dates back as far as the Egyptian papyrus records from 4500 BC. The Greeks and Romans adapted use from the Egyptians. Hippocrates was known to use them daily is his therapeutic regimen. After the fall of the Roman Empire and rise of Christianity, the use of essential oils was confined to the monasteries, and used for the healing of the town’s people.

During the Middle Ages, in the time of the black plague, it was documented that perfumers, herbalists and a smart band of thieves used the aromatic properties of various plants and were immune to the plague.
Essential oils were the strongest medicine used even in the early 1900’s. Dr. Jean Valnet, a French physician, was successful in treating injuries with essential oils in World War II. In Europe researchers have proven the medicinal benefits of essential oils and they are now commonly used throughout much of Europe.
Possible Sensitivities
Mother's Touch blends are for external use only! If you know or suspect that your baby is sensitive to any allergens than essential oils may not be the right choice for you. I highly suggest that before using any new product even an internal herbal remedy that one do a scratch test. A scratch test is when to take a tiny amount of the substance you are going to use and put on the inner part of the arm, cover with a band aid and wait 2 to 48 hours to make sure no redness appears. If no sign of irritation appears start with small amount the first time and use as directed.
